Musk also clarified what he meant by AGI. &#8220;Capable of doing anything a human with a computer can do, but not smarter than all humans and computers combined. That\u2019s probably three to five years away,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"336\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/officechai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/pjimage-2022-05-27T204912.564.jpg?resize=640%2C336\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-42623\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/officechai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/pjimage-2022-05-27T204912.564.jpg?resize=1024%2C538&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/officechai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/pjimage-2022-05-27T204912.564.jpg?resize=300%2C158&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/officechai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/pjimage-2022-05-27T204912.564.jpg?resize=768%2C403&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/officechai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/pjimage-2022-05-27T204912.564.jpg?w=1200&amp;ssl=1 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Musk also said that Grok 5 will be better at AI Engineering than experts like former Tesla Director of AI Andrej Karpathy. &#8220;Grok 5 will be better at AI engineering (called \u201cresearch\u201d by the pompous) than (Andrej) Karpathy, for example,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When asked if Grok 5 will learn continuously &#8212; one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/officechai.com\/ai\/andrej-karpathy-says-llms-are-still-missing-a-system-prompt-learning-paradigm\/\">main criticisms<\/a> of current LLMs &#8212; Musk said that Grok 5 will look to fix that. &#8220;Dynamic reinforcement learning is important. Grok 5, like smart humans, will learn almost immediately,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now a 10% percent probability isn&#8217;t the greatest, but the very fact that it&#8217;s being discussed shows that Musk sees potential in Grok 5 becoming AGI. Grok 4 was <a href=\"https:\/\/officechai.com\/ai\/xai-releases-grok4-beats-openai-and-google-on-many-benchmarks\/\">released <\/a>in July 2025, and Musk has said that Grok 5 will be released before the end of 2025. And if Musk feels that there&#8217;s a 10% chance that Grok 5 which is due to be released in the next 3 months could be AGI, it does seem to appear that AGI is within touching distance at the top AI labs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elon Musk believes that AGI is within reach for xAI.
