Officials claim that she bought a lot of items in a short amount of time, and this triggered an enquiry by the tax department.\u00a0Online shoppers leave a digital trail that is available to income tax officials, who use a smart software to map an individual&#8217;s spending, say\u00a0officials. The spending data can be matched with taxes paid and evaders can be caught. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">Those close to the hapless officer, though, say that his wife &#8220;suffers from compulsive buying disorder&#8221; &#8211; a psychological disorder characterized by an obsession with shopping&#8221;, which sounds suspiciously like gobbledygook for &#8220;Oh I found some incredible prices\u00a0online.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">But one can scarcely blame her. With ads across newspapers, television, billboards, and even notifications on your phone, it&#8217;s not easy ignoring the sales. Once you&#8217;re within the swirling vortex of cashbacks, limited period offers and Chetan Bhagat books for <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><a style=\"color: #33cccc;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Flipkart\/status\/782054752980832256\" target=\"_blank\">Rs. 1<\/a><\/span>, one can get carried away.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\">E-commerce companies, meanwhile, will be hoping more people fall prey to the\u00a0mysterious &#8220;compulsive buying disorder&#8221;\u00a0affliction this woman suffers from.
